  • “Congratulations on your wonderful new CD! The mix of music is totally enchanting and original, and your playing is sensitive, colorful, and dynamic – all of these great qualities!”

    - Bonita Boyd
Professor of Flute, Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY
  • “I enjoyed listening to your CD which I think is very well recorded with a clear and well-balanced sound which shows off both your playing to great effect. Regarding Sonata Latino, I think you captured the spirit of the piece well in the first two movements with good attention to detail and accuracy in the middle movement. Well done!”

    - Mike Mower
Composer, Producer, and Recording Artist, London, England
  • “[The selections on this CD]…make what seems like an ideal recital program – one in which the duo demonstrates their supple musicianship and stylistic range. This reviewer is especially fond of Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise,” and finds this particular performance of great beauty. The Dohnányi is also a lovely piece, and deserves to be heard more often. The Reinecke Sonata in E Minor, Op. 167, “Undine,” a standard in the flute repertoire, can sound like Romantic fluff if not treated with the right attitude and tempi. Here, the duo evokes just the right mood and emotional warmth without forcing it or going “over the top.” Jacob plays with a big, rich sound…The pianist Molly Roseman seems to relish her role as collaborator – she is much more than merely an accompanist. Her playing is clean and precise…Overall, the CD is beautifully performed and well-engineered."

    -Elizabeth Watson
President and CD Reviewer, Greater Boston Flute Association, Woburn, MA
  • “Jacob’s skill on the flute is unparalleled and his lyrical style lends itself perfectly to the singing passages on the CD …..Jacob’s playing mimics the vocal style quite nicely, particularly the long phrases where he seems to play forever without taking a breath.”

“Her (Molly) unfailing sense of rhythm and precision staccatos shine, providing an up-tempo, toe-tapping groove.”

“Jacob and Molly never hesitate; where one goes, the other follows unquestionably, making the duet seem completely equal rather than a soloist/accompanist relationship.”

    -City Pages (Wausau)
  • “They work so beautifully as a team. Every musical nuance is there. They seem to anticipate one another…I just love coming to their recitals.”

  • "It is seldom that I believe so strongly in musicians' work that I am willing to host them as guest artists on multiple occasions at Miami University, of Oxford, Ohio, where I have taught full-time for the past thirty years. Jacob and Molly Roseman ARE two of those special artist performers and teachers who have favored the Miami Flute Studio with both recitals and master classes, twice during the past nine years. Their most recent recital, on September 23, 2006, featured music by Mozart, Zyman, Dohnanyi and Widor. Jacob's flute tone was ravishingly rich, resonant and singing, while his technical fluency was flawless and brilliant. Together with his wife, Molly, at the piano, they performed a varied program that demonstrated stylistic elegance as well as perfect ensemble rapport.

" Both of Jacob's flute master classes at Miami offered just the right balance of attention to the physical aspects of playing, with technical, aesthetic and artistic/stylistic advice. His teaching was both highly inspiring and informative. Each student who played for him responded positively and dramatically. Students continued to discuss and use his suggestions to good advantage throughout the weeks following his classes. They were sincerely appreciative of his genuine concern for their success. One of my graduate students was so impressed with his commitment to teaching that she asked for extra lesson time with him following the master class.

"Jacob and Molly Rosemans' debut cd, Something Old, Something Borrowed, Something New, is most attractively designed. The sonatas by Taktakishvili and Mower are played with energy and sparkling rhythmic vivacity. The Aria by Dohnanyi, the Vocalise by Rachmaninoff, and the Sonata by Reinecke are romantically lush and expressive. They bring baroque charm to their convincing stylization of the Bach selection. I highly recommend these two young artists to anyone looking for a fresh and engaging musical perspective."

    -Sandra L. Seefeld
Professor of Flute, Miami University, Oxford, OH
  • "Jacob and Molly Roseman performed a wonderful program at Lawrence University. Mr. Roseman plays with a warm, rich sound, which was perfect for Widor's neo-romantic Suite. His fluent technique made the demanding program sound effortless, and his use of tone colors enhanced his sensitive interpretation of Dohnanyi's lovely Aria. What made the recital so exceptional was the musical interaction between Mr. Roseman and his pianist and wife, Molly Roseman.

"It is rare to hear a duo that plays together so beautifully. Mrs. Roseman's artistry was especially impressive in the transcription of Mozart's Sonata K. 296. Mr. and Mrs. Roseman have obviously performed together a lot, and it is a treat to hear such fine ensemble playing."
